Cleveland schools are facing the problem of dropouts head on by scaring their young pupils with visions of prison rape. OK, not exactly. But the district will be screening a documentary, “InsideOut,” which will show prisoners talking about their mistakes in life, in the hopes that it scares kids off the streets and into the classrooms.

Cleveland schools wil do what? This is another situation where Cleveland leadership is brain dead. They need new ideas and new blood. They keep recycling the same junk, people and so-called leaders, and expect different results. Come on Mr. Mayor, who do you represent. You’ve turned the schools over and all the quality minorities educators and administrators are being displaced. Also, we recycle the business leaders into high paying schools jobs and guess where the money is going? back to businesses that aren’t servicing the kids of Cleveland. Mr. Mayor I thought you cared about all people. You are asleep at the wheel and the kids are asleep in the back seat. This is a tragedy. You brought Eugene and he sold out for money and left. Now you want to punish the Black community by switching to an all caucasian leadership that know nothing about education. Come on Mr. Mayor, you know they will steal the City blind. Oh it does’nt matter because they’re your friends and your friends won’t do that. That’s how you were duped by Eugene, who brought thiefs in under your nose. Wake up Frnak and get Barbara back. The kids were learning. Oh they don’t want to many minority students achieving because it pulls jobs away from their kids, so Barbara became expendable after the levy because it threatens the Cleveland culture. Come on Mr. Mayor, where do you line up. You’re helping to continue the poor cycle of save some and jail the other so we can have jobs. Jackson B
What the hell are they talking about Cleveland schools would scare the hell out of prisoners!!
Cleveland schools are a joke when my daughter went to south high she was in a state of shock. when she had a question about a math problem the teacher told her to take a wag, when she asked him what that meant he told her a wild ass guess and this is how they are being taught. This is not a black or white issue this is about laziness and not teaching our youth what they need. People need to get off the race card and think more outside the box, it cannot be anything else but ignorance.
Really! If these kids are not afraid of their parents, and evidently they’re not, what makes you think these kids would be afraid of prisoners that has no blood connection to them? I understand the need to want to get the kids to realize the importance and necessity of a quality education, but a student has to be self-motivated to want to succeed. Self-motivation does not start when you’re a teenager, that’s pretty much where it ends if the motivation was never there to began with. I know, it is sad, but that is the reality of our kids today. Irresponsible and non-involved parenting, is what makes a child uninterested in school! I do pray for our lost children today, and for the lost parents as well.
I must agree with Joanne 882. The school systems are a mess, but its through the country. The children are not learning what’s being taught because of fear from violence at school, home, and the streets of their nieghborhoods in which they live. They are putting teachers in classrooms that lack the experience needed claiming some tachers are over-gualified to teach because of the money issue. Another problem is the lack of displine both at home and school, some children don’t respect their parents, their teachers, friends nor themselves. There are teachers in our schools that prefer to send kids home with mountains of homework expecting parents to teach the kids. If you look back in time about 40 or 50 years ago at educational facilities , what they taught and how taught it you will see the difference for yourself.
