Dating in Cleveland is hard. People work long hours, students graduate from college and move to larger cities, and that well-written personal ad you so loved on Craigslist turns out to be penned by a hooker.
So some Clevelanders, desperate for love, are willing to pay big bucks to find it, doling out upwards of $800 to personal matchmakers. Mike Green of Lunch Date promises great things for the love-lorn, namely a database full of upscale, professional, good-looking matches that he’s personally sorted.
One would expect they’d all be single. Maybe people shouldn’t have such high expectations…

SCENE – Please continue to go after this guy. He’s a crook who takes peoples money without providing the quality service that was promised. His claims are complete lies. There is a great story here and a lot of people would love to see this guy get exposed.

Thanks for exposing Lunch date. I know there are many unhappy clinets out there! I hope you do a feature article exposing Mike Green. He does not have a huge data base of eligible women…he barely has 30. Please, follow up on this story. What he’s doing is dishonest and wrong!
Why do dishonest people always get away with it? Mike Green is stealing money from innocent people and no one is stopping him! Mike Green set me up on a date with his brother Arnie Greenspun and he thought that was fair! I paid Mike $800.00 for the unlimited dates package. I went out on about 7 and none were interested in me. It got to the point that I had to call him to let him know I’m still alive.
He’d always act like he’s rushed and would tell me than I’ll call you back which he never did.
He seemed very bitter. I joined in 2007 and my last date was in early 2008. I guess that’s what he calls unlimited.
Complete and total scam! Recycled Men and Women on a continual basis. Promise of dates and just more and more money in Mike’s pocket. Friends of Mike and his brother would go on the dates reluctantly so that Mike could get paid, what a joke!
I joined Lunch Date in 2007 after trying several online dating sites with no results. I thought perhaps the people at lunch date would be more sincere and serious about meeting someone. I was wrong. Mike Greenspan,
I mean Mike Green talked me into the unlimited date package for around $800.00. I am a sucker.
I met about 7 women and none of them had any interest in me. I felt the same. He has his brother Arnold working the phones. I knew him from his Bunce Brother’s men’s clothing store days. If I didn’t want to go on a date he tried to set up, Mike would get mad. You could tell by his demeanor that he dislikes women. I should have seen the red flag the first time I met him at Starbucks on Clifton Ave. We were siting at the table talking and he noticed this very pretty blond. Much to young for him. He told me he’d give me, I think it was one hundred dollars if I asked her for her phone number. I did not do it. I should have realized right then and there that this guy is unprofessional and a joke. I should have just got up and left. Instead I payed him $800.00 for misery.
According to his contract, I am still a member and I am writing this June 2015. He hasn’t called me in years.
It got to the point that I would have to call him and he’d always tell me he was busy and he would call me right back. Hey Mike, I’m still waiting for you to call me you rotten crook. I can see why women don’t like you.
You are a jerk. Sometimes when I actually got to talk with Mike on the phone, he’d make fun and run down some of the women in lunch date or women in general. Not exactly the kind of guy you want for a dating service. I am now 53, still single and never married, engaged or lived with a woman. I don’t care anymore.
I can go the rest of my life without ever meeting a woman again, and I most likely will. It’s better that being associated with a business like Lunch Date. It should be called Lunch Hate! If you read this Mike, I know you will remember me. You have a memory like an elephant. You never forget. I paid you for the unlimited date package. In other words, as long as you are in business, you should be setting me up with women to date.
I paid you for the sucker package of unlimited dates. In my opinion 7 dates in 8 years is not unlimited.
It is a painful reminder that you are scum. I don’t know how you sleep at night. You must not have any conscious. You know who I am Mike. You have my phone number. Give me a call or refund my money.

Mike begged me to do mercy dates so that the other party would believe he was working hard for them.. He even insisted I drive through inclement weather so HE wasn’t embarrassed . He has no scruples and is a snake. Dating is just a numbers game, but Mike will say otherwise. He wont admit that his rate limiting step is the amount of clients he has. Everybody out there take advantage of other venues as through my own recent experience ..out of 8 dates only 1 met my criteria. I predict he wont last much longer. He wasted my time. Its a good thing I dont give a shit about $800. And why does he Dis Scene Magazine … its an awesome longstanding publication. Mike is a nice guy who means well, Believes in what he does. A little pushy on the sales side. Regardless I bought a small package with the intent of evaluating his services. Hi did a good job setting date up very quickly.
Based on what the several ladies I visited with told me, it indicated that Mike could so a bit better with probing his clientele.
When I provided this feedback to Mike he yelled intensively at me on the phone and told me I as a lair and that all woman lie, I just don’t think this is true. Regardless the way Mike responded to the constructive criticism was a demonstration in lack of professionalism.
Wow. I’m glad I read this before calling to meet with Mike. I will steer clear of this loser and his phony business.
Have any of you tried to dispute Lunch Date’s charge to your credit card? Just wondering if anyone has done this.
I wish I would have seen this site prior to signing up with Mike Greenspun of LUNCH DATE. Horrible experience! Mike has issues with being honest and respectful. He was too busy talking instead of listening to me. He didn’t deliver what was promised. I did a lot better on POF, a free dating site. I got my $595 back, but the experience with Mike was terrible.
Facing a dwindling pool of contacts , over the past couple of years, I have relied on Mike and Just Lunch to meet interesting, available, local people seriously interested in exploring a relationship. While I have also used online cites, I have found Mikes service to be way superior. He saves you from having to wade thru the mass of profiles and targets in on quality people in your radius. The negative stories shared above are so opposite of what I have experienced working with the very kind, intelligent and highly professional Mike from Lunch Dates. Im happy to be a new client. Mike takes the guesswork out of who am I really meeting on my first date. Its easy enough to match with someone online, but difficult to know if someone is really single and shares your values. Mike screens everyone and matches based on his instincts. A good friend of mine found her mate through Mike. Hes the real deal.
