Corsten is best known in club circles as a trance-oriented DJ in demand as a remixer (he’s tweaked tracks by U2, Moby, and Fischerspooner). L.E.F. , he says, is a chance for him to show off his studio skills. “I really wanted to express myself as a producer. Most people only know me as a DJ.” Guest vocals by Simon LeBon, Howard Jones, and Guru get the party started. “I’m very hands-on,” says Corsten. “Nothing leaves the studio without me being 100 percent satisfied.” Corsten wraps up his latest tour October 28 at New Orleans’ Voodoo Music Experience festival, where he’ll spin from the top of his tour bus. The monthlong trek dubbed the Road to Voodoo Music Experience Tour gives the Dane a roadside view of the U.S. “This is the first time I toured the states in a bus,” he says. “I’m really seeing America.”
