This campus safety alert was sent out last night around 10 p.m. by Cleveland State University.
The Langston Apartments on Chester Ave. was the scene of an apparent armed robbery during which one of the suspects fired his weapon. No injuries were reported.

An attempted robbery was reported at approximately 8:30 pm in the Langston Apartments. Two african american males attempted to rob a student in the hallway of the Langston Apartments. One of the suspects was armed with a revolver handgun and fired the weapon during the encounter. There were no reported injuries at this time. Both suspects immediately fled the area running northbound towards Payne Avenue. The first suspect was wearing wearing all black clothing. The second suspect was wearing all black clothing carrying a yellow back pack. No further information is available at this time.

  1. Was in the building and heard the gunshot outside. Absolutely outrageous that people have to pay 1200/month to live here and then be scared to go outside at night. The management needs to do something about this.
