Video shown on the Today show this morning of the aftermath of yesterday’s incident at a Cleveland elementary school where a dozen or so kids were sickened after a kid brought in marijuana-laced gummies included a Cleveland EMS worker making an OK sign.

Or maybe he was flicking a booger.

Anyway, the sign, if you didn’t know, is an outgrowth from 4Chan that is almost always a trolling gesture, when done intentionally, meant to capture the agitation and anger of liberals, some of whom are absolutely convinced that is is always a sly white power symbol. And while it definitely has origins in that area and has been used as coded language, when it pops up in nationally broadcast moments and in pictures, it’s almost always not that. More from the Southern Poverty Law Center on the topic can be found here.

Anyway, segments of Twitter did their thing today, pinging Cleveland EMS incessantly to point out the gesture, which made in front of a black woman might not have been the wisest of choices, and now the city of Cleveland has gone and issued a press release saying that the dude who pulled the stunt and/or was cracking his knuckles and/or was playing the circle game, as the EMS unit says he was, has temporarily reassigned per standard procedure while the Safety Director conducts a review.

Surely this is not how the gentleman in question thought this would play out. Or was it?

  1. If the hand sign is supposed to be in the picture provided with this article I just don’t see it. The position of the man’s hand could be anything from okay or just a random position of fingers.

  2. Just ridiculous. Do people.sit around looking for things to getad about? This is so pathetic.

  3. Vince! Hahaha. Youre such a pot stirrer and loser. Hopefully theyll throw a booger at you for this pathetic article. What a great city we live in where we persecute a tainted city worker.

  4. Thank goodness we have saints like Vince G and today show reporters watching over us. Hahaha. Such losers

  5. If this guy loses his job over this bs Im making him a gofundme. Literally everything is turned into some sort of issue. Dont even breathe.

  6. Isn’t this what straight guys do to each other? Like the title says “the circle game”? You put it below the waist and it represents “an anus” and you trick your other straight buddies into looking at it by accident, then the joke’s on them and everyone laughs. Guys at work in the office do this to each other and me and get a good laugh out of it, and that’s how it was explained to me years ago. Once I tried it but I had it by my chest, and the other guys knew I didn’t know how to play, and they said “it needs to be below your waist since it represents an a**hole, and is just a good joke.” But the funny part is, I’m not straight and really wouldn’t mind looking at other guy’s “circles”!! Lol.

  7. Wow! Maybe we should looking for conspiracy theories and find something to do with our time. It was either a meditation or a signal to his partner.

  8. Slow news day, Vince? Sure as hell looks like it. Way to make something out of NOTHING. Wise up!

  9. Could of just been counting…
But of course. In this day everyone has to make a big deal out of nothing. Now this poor guy is probably scared of losing his job for some bull story. Go after the real stories about the under educated head honchos of companies or in the government even taking our tax dollars for their own benifits.
But that’s just to hard of a fight so y’all go after the working class. Not to mention someone that could save your life.
