It doesn’t matter if the ballpark is covered with a dome, has a retractable dome or needs no dome due to sun, surf and fun 12 months out of the year……no team wants a front-loaded schedule from Opening Day to early May, since those dates are a graveyard for attendance figures, no matter the location. If MLB would just go back to scheduling “traditional” and twi-night doubleheaders (while eliminating the massive hurdles to reschedule rain-outs as [ASAP] doubleheaders) , the season could start a few weeks later — and the blustery problem is solved.
