Way the heck back in 1970, Canal Corners Farm & Market owner Dave Wingenfeld began presenting rock concerts in his parents’ backyard. He called the shows Wingenstock.

This summer, Wingenfeld returns to the role of local concert promoter with the Wingenstock concert series he hosts in his Big, Red Barn (10901 Tinkers Creek Road, Valley View).

Three Cleveland musicians — Mike Kearns, Jim Wilson and Bill Hoffman — kick off the barn’s summer series on Saturday, June 18, to reprise their “unique, energetic and informative take” on the Beatles with a show dubbed Mike, Jim & Bill Do the White Album. It’s a reconstruction of the Beatles’ classic album with only guitars and vocals. The date also happens to be Paul McCartney’s birthday.

Gates open at 6 p.m., and the music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.
