To go with the findings Monday, the organization put up its first billboard along I-90 near Eddy Rd., an area where motorists are frequently ticketed by Bratenahl police. In plain language, the sign’s message reiterates the ACLU’s stance that mayor’s courts exist to make money for a city, rather than actually deliver justice, and that they routinely and overwhelmingly punish minorities and the poor.
Mayor’s courts are set up to hear traffic and local ordinance violations, yet they’ve now been eliminated in every state but two: Ohio and Louisiana.
Ohio currently has about 300 mayor’s courts, which only require magistrates who hear cases to have six hours of training per year.

Try not speeding through bratenahl, especially drunk. Then theres no fines. Stop protecting the criminals in this town and vilifying those hired to enforce laws. You love to support the scum that plagues this city.

Here is a simple fix. Stop using CITY patrol cars to ticket drivers who are merely passing by your city. ITS WHY WE TAXPAYERS PAY FOR A STATE HIGHWAY PATROL, TO PATROL THE INTERSTATES. They have every right to ticket anyone they find in violation of laws inside their city, or if a pursuit that begins in that city should take them onto the interstate, but this is merely a speed trap that does not make their city any safer, in any way. The best example of this is the 20 something year Linndale speed trap on 71. They claimed for decades that it was for safety, even though there are no exits or on ramps from that city. The day that the money was taken from the Linndale Mayors court and moved to Parma, the freeway must have suddenly became safe because they no longer saw a need to keep a car there since.
SCENE needs a billboard exposing the right-wing troll who pollutes its website almost daily.

We live two blocks from Bratenha just off Lakeshore Blvd in Collinwood , the wrong side of the tracks.
We and often use the I90 exit to Lakeshore Blvd where these bastards lay in wait to pounce on you and award you with expensive moving violations that amount to highway robbery. They claim you rolled through the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp. This is bullshit because when you stop at the stop sign, and then try to proceed east on Lakeshore Blvd., you can easily be rear ended if you proceed without stopping again to see if theres oncoming traffic coming from Bratenhal as you attempt to merge.
We have had tradesman working on our home receive a ticket for the same reason and it is clearly a trap. To make matters worse, the punk ass cop who ticketed us was a rude asshole who also demanded to know where we were coming from at 11:00am, and where we were going ( drivers license address was two blocks from where we were pulled over), AND demanded my husbands drivers license even though he wasnt the driver????
Btw, we are white, college educated, employed, tax paying residents. Even if you are an expert racial profiling cop, the only reason to have stopped us was to line the police coffers. No matter what color, race, or creed- you shouldnt be exploited or expected to float the private army of the wealthy enclave known as Bratenhal- emphasis on the BRAT!
