Fudge, who has represented Ohio’s 11th Congressional District since 2008, spoke before a group of supporters at Jackson’s campaign headquarters.
“Mayor Jackson has worked tirelessly on Cleveland’s transformation, and the results can be seen throughout the entire city,” Fudge said, “but there is more work to be done, and it is critical that he and I continue our partnership to maintain this momentum and move Cleveland to the next level.”
Jackson called Congresswoman Fudge a “great partner and a major champion of Cleveland,” one who “provides an important voice in Washington that produces immeasurable results.”
Jackson was campaigning Tuesday morning, waving to motorists — his preferred campaign method — at the intersection of Kinsman and MLK.

For her part, Marcia Fudge joins 13 City Council members, the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party, several construction unions, and Cleveland’s corporate community in their endorsement of the 12-year incumbent.
A primary debate, hosted by the City Club, will be held on August 25. It will be the first time Jackson appears alongside his challengers.
