The City of Cleveland cordially invites residents and other thrill-seekers to Mayor Frank Jackson’s annual State of the City address, a humdrum affair that, despite its countless iterations, is always more or less the same.
This year’s address — Jackson’s 129th, by our count — will be held on October 10 at 7 p.m. Like last year, Jackson will deliver his address at the Cleveland Public Auditorium. The evening start time and free admission is meant to encourage attendance. In years’ past, the lunchtime address or Q&A was hosted by the City Club and exuded a weird, corporate vibe.
While admission is free and seating is open, registration is still for whatever reason required. Doors open at six. Refreshments will be provided. The talk itself will touch on familiar themes, though we hope Jackson will celebrate the work of CLASH and the passage of citywide lead-safe legislation.
With any luck, the administration will refrain from issuing any “Rules of Engagement” for local media members and avoid embarrassing dust-ups therefrom.

And Im sure his speech will be filled with reasons why we need to pass all of the upcoming ma$$ive tax levies AND renewals so that we can pay for more nonsense and spending programs of his!!!
Its past time for Taxin Jackson and thief Budish to both resign from office now!!!
This city will be er amount to anything respectful. It’s too far gone. Infested with too much bs. That is all this city knows. Wrong doing. Greed. No morals. Period. Who keeps a sorry ass Mayor In office this long? Slave minded citizens and crooks. That’s who. City is still divided. It’s all about the have abs the have nots. Original Clevelanders vs. Spoiled Implants. When times are rough and city is economically strapped. Who is are the solders still here fighting working keeping it alive? The real Clevelanders. Not the Recently adopted New implants. Because they leave the City when times get bad. All if left are the people the city constantly shit on. Yet always using tax dollars to build shit and give away money to benefit others to suck up to. This coronavirus is the nail in the coffin to Cleveland’s so-call boom. Now what? Because sports damn sure isn’t the answer! And it’s NOT a real tidiest distinction. Light out. Cleveland’s. Red a gut job on the city and it’s administration.
