Lollapalooza is a popular annual music festival that began in 1991. It was created by Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band. However, the festival’s success led to its continuation as an annual event. The first Lollapalooza took place in July 1991 and featured a diverse lineup of alternative rock, punk, and hip-hop acts.
Meanwhile in Cleveland, Grog Shop talent buyer and promoter Wallace Settles has done his fair share of booking diverse acts at Grog Shop and beyond. To celebrate his birthday this year, the Shway Papers head honcho put together a unique lineup of artists to perform at the inaugural Wallypalooza including Duby Rodgers, Honey Pocket, Mellowman Funk, Obnox and Skuff Micksun. Here’s what we saw.
