Bach’s Easter Oratorio

Conductor Bernard Labadie is back at Mandel Concert Hall for an all-Bach evening featuring the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and star soloists. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30, and performances continue through Saturday.

Dean Lewis
The singer-songwriter who notched a major hit in 2016 with the pop anthem “Waves” performs tonight at 8 at the Agora. He returned last year with The Epilogue, an album of soaring anthems about resilience and perseverance. Singer-songwriter Henry Moodie opens.

CSU Spring Dance Concert 2025

Cleveland State University dance students present this special performance that will feature student choreographers and guest artists. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30 at the Outcalt Theatre. Performances also take place at 2 and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Fortune Feimster
Tonight at 7, Last Comic Standing contestant Fortune Feimster brings her lively standup to Connor Palace. Confronting the issues of being named “Fortune” and having a Southern family, she spices her standup sets with personal material.

H.R. of Bad Brains
The singer from the terrific reggae-punk act Bad Brains brings his solo show to the Kent Stage. Bad Brains emerged out of Washington D.C. in the late ’70s and quickly gained a cult following, though the original band members would part ways in 1987 (they have since reunited on several occasions). Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Slackfest Night 1
The Slackers, a group that formed in New York in 1991 and experienced some commercial success when ska-punk became popular again, come to the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights for a two-night stand that will feature different sets each night. Tonight’s show begins at 8, and tomorrow’s concert commences at the same time.

Third Friday
From 5 to 9 p.m., many of the 78th Street Studios resident artist studios and galleries will be open as part of this monthly event. There will be live music, and Local West, a Gordon Square sandwich shop, will serve food. BARneo will have a selection of adult beverages as well. Admission is free.

Under a Baseball Sky
José Cruz González, the author of American Mariachi, wrote this new play about baseball’s deep roots in the Mexican American community. Tonight’s performance of the play takes place at 7:30 at the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. It runs through May 4.

The comedian that one critic called a “joke machine” comes to Connor Palace, where he performs tonight at 7.

Artist in the Atrium
Every third Saturday of each month, stop by the Ames Family Atrium between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to get a firsthand look at the art-making process. Each session provides the opportunity to engage and interact with a different Northeast Ohio maker during pop-up demonstrations and activities.

The Columbus Crew vs. Inter Miami CF

Eggstravaganza
As part of a special Easter celebration, there will be colorful crafts, “Bunny Hop” stage shows, games and raffles, a butterfly bounce house and mini golf from noon to 6 p.m. throughout Tower City Center. Plus, you can “hop along” the Bunny Trail Egg Hunt to different Tower City stores to collect prize-filled eggs.

Local emo rockers Mud Whale put together the lineup for this festival that features up-and-coming regional acts. The music begins at 4 p.m. at the Five O’Clock Lounge in Lakewood.

Joywave
Indie rockers Joywave have released a series of mixtapes, EPs and albums over the course of a career that stretches back 15 years. The band even had a No. 1 hit with Big Data’s single “Dangerous (Feat. Joywave). It performs tonight at the Roxy at Mahall’s 20 Lanes. The indie rock act little images opens.

Moments in the Spotlight Opening Reception
Local photographers Anastasia Pantsios, Joe Kleon, Denyce Renee and Judie Vegh have teamed up for this exhibit featuring some of their best photos of local concerts by acts such as Led Zeppelin, the Who, Black Sabbath, James Brown, and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The exhibit opens with a reception that takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at BAYarts’s Sally Otto Gallery.

Souled American: Rise Above It
This newly active Americana band just released the career-spanning collection, Rise Above It: A Souled American Anthology. The release, which features 20 tunes from the band’s six full-length albums, shows why alt-country heroes such as Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy champion the group. It performs tonight at 7 at Negative Space.

Whose Live Anyway?

Remi Wolf
The indie artist performs tonight at 7 at the Agora. The woozy single “Motorcycle” features Wolf’s Amy Winehouse-like vocals and demonstrates her ability to deliver laid back songs that possess a quiet intensity to them. The current tour supports her latest album, Big Ideas.

Cavs vs. Miami Heat

The Cavs start their playoff run today as the No. 1 seed in the East. As a result, they will have homecourt advantage when they play the Miami Heat at 7 at Rocket Arena. The Heat are coming off two play-in wins and will be a tough, well-coached opponent.

Discover Weekly Cleveland
This free series at the B-Side will feature a different line-up of emerging artists and area nonprofits to promote their message to the community through song. The event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. It continues through April 28.

Dyngus Day

Cleveland’s Dyngus Day celebration gets bigger and better each year. This year’s event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Detroit Shoreway, promises to be another wildly good time. As part of the day-long celebration, Detroit Avenue will be closed from West 54th Street to West 58th Street. As always, Dyngus Day will feature a pierogi eating contest, the crowning of Ms. Dyngus Day and live entertainment. The fabulous DJ Kishka hosts.
