2025 Stop the Hate Youth Speak Out and Youth Sing Out Awards Ceremony

The awards will feature live judging of the top three finalists along with presentations of $100,000 in scholarships, anti-bias community grants, and prizes to students and schools. Admission is free, but registration is required. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Jack Joseph and Morton Mandel Auditorium located on Tri-C’s Eastern Campus.

Season’s Greetings
Brit playwright Alan Ayckbourn satirizes Christmas in this comedy that arrives in Cleveland a bit past the holiday. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30 at the Helen, where performances continue through Sunday.

Twelfth Night
When a violent shipwreck separates Viola from her boat and twin brother, she washes up on Illyria, an exotic island. She disguises herself as a boy messenger tries to pass herself off as a native. That, in a nutshell, is the plot of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. And like many of the Bard’s play, misplaced affections and misunderstood intentions come into play. Catch the Great Lakes Theatre production of the play, which comes to the Hanna Theatre tonight at 7:30. Performances continue through Sunday.

All American Cleveland Pet Expo

More than 100 vendors that will have everything “new and good for your pet” will be on hand for this weekend-long event. There will be live entertainment, expert speakers, interactive demonstrations, and pet contests. Attendees will also have the chance to meet adoptable animals from local rescues and shelters. The event runs through Sunday at the I-X Center.

Bayside — 25th Anniversary: The Errors Tour
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, this punk band will play two nights at House of Blues. Tonight’s show will feature music from its first four albums, including Sirens and Condolences, Bayside, The Walking Wounded and Shudder. Tomorrow night’s concert will feature songs from the albums that followed, including Killing Time, Cult, Vacancy, Interrobang and There Are Worse Things Thing Being Alive. Both shows begin at 7 p.m.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
Directed by Artistic Director Trinidad Snider, Beautiful tells the true story of singer-songwriter Carole King’s journey from teenage songwriter to music icon, featuring hits like “You’ve Got a Friend” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” Near West Theatre presents the play tonight at 7:30. Performances continue through April 13.

Here Come the Mummies
The novelty act performs tonight at 6:30 at the Kent Stage. The funk group features Nashville musicians who keep their identities a mystery. With its spirited horns and raspy vocals, a tune such as “Dirty Minds” evokes classic ’70s rock and soul and shows just how talented the band is.

On the heels of the release of the single “Growin Pains” and the deluxe version of his debut EP, hara-kiri , this Missouri-based singer-songwriter brings his latest national tour to Mahall’s 20 Lanes in Lakewood. Singer-songwriter Damien Styles opens. Doors are at 7 p.m.

MIX: Strata
This dance party at Cleveland Museum of Art honors Rose B. Simpson’s large-scale installation. Cleveland’s DJ Red-I opens the evening at 6 with an open format selection of hip-hop, house and funk. Then, from 8 to 10 p.m., Shub, a DJ many consider to be the Godfather of PowWowStep, headlines.

Monsters vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
The Monsters play back-to-back games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The two teams play at 7 tonight and tomorrow night at Rocket Arena. Since tonight’s game falls on a Friday, there will be concessions specials as part of a season-long promotion.

Nathan-Paul & The Admirals, Bassel & The Supernaturals, Lt Headtrip, U4U

This eclectic bill features U40, a collective of Ukrainian musicians who have settled in Northeast Ohio, Lt Heatrip, a national touring hip-hop artist, the Admirables, a funk/soul/jazz group known for its party-like live shows, and Bassel & the Supernaturals, a soul/funk act out of Chicago. It begins at 8 p.m. at the Beachland Ballroom. 8 p.m.

Under A Baseball Sky
José Cruz González, the author of American Mariachi, wrote this new play about baseball’s deep roots in the Mexican American community. Tonight’s performance of the play takes place at 7:30 at the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. It runs through May 4.

Reggie Watts
The versatile comedian/musician/writer/actor brings his absurdist comedy to the Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights. The show begins at 8:30 p.m.

Blackmail

The Cleveland Silent Film Festival hosts this screening of the Alfred Hitchcock classic. The film will be accompanied by a live score performed by the Cleveland Photoplayers, led by pianist Eric Charnofsky and featuring some of the top instrumentalists currently working in Northeast Ohio. The ensemble was established expressly for the series, and the Blackmail screening will be the Cleveland Photoplayers’ debut performance. It shows at 4:30 p.m. at Cleveland Public Library.

Fourth Annual Ben Caskey ‘22 Memorial Scholarship Benefit Concert
Tim Caskey’s son Ben Caskey passed away unexpectedly in 2022 from a congenital heart defect. He was a senior at Baldwin Wallace University, and his family started a scholarship in his name. For the third year in a row, Tim Caskey’s band, Serious Nature, will play a special fundraising concert at the Winchester Music Tavern to raise funds for the scholarship. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

One Last Saturday Night

Twenty musicians from nine different bands will celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead. Titled One Last Saturday Night, this special performance marks the grand finale for Networking is Dead, a Grateful Dead-inspired business networking group. The event supports the Gathering Place, a nonprofit that helps individuals and families coping with cancer. It takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Beachland Ballroom.

The Righteous Brothers
The classic vocal group that originally formed way back in 1962 performs tonight at 7:30 at MGM Northfield Park — Center Stage. Famous for blue-eyed soul tunes such as “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” the group was inducted into the Rock Hall in 2003.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the 1975 film that still draws an exuberant, costumed crowd that likes to throw rice and dry toast and sing along to the songs in the movie, still draws big crowds to local showings. Expect a throng to show up for tonight’s screening that takes place at 9:30 p.m. at the Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights.

Cavs vs. Sacramento Kings

In the attempt to make a push for the playoffs, the Sacramento Kings picked up Zach LaVine and Jonas Valančiūnas just prior to the NBA trade deadline. As a result, a much-improved Sacto team will play the Cavs tonight at 6 at Rocket Arena.

CIM New Music Ensemble
Claude Baker, the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Kulas Foundation Visiting Artist, serves as a guest composer for this concert that takes place at 2 p.m. at Cleveland Museum of Art.

Discover Weekly Cleveland
This free series at the B-Side will feature a different line-up of emerging artists and area nonprofits to promote their message to the community through song. The event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. The series continues through April 28.

Engelbert Humperdinck “The Last Waltz Farewell Tour”
The crooner brings his farewell tour to MGM Northfield Park —Center Stage. Likely to accommodate his older crowd, the show begins at 5 p.m. Expect to hear hits such as the somber “Release Me” and the saccharine love tune “The Last Waltz” one more time from the 88-year-old.

The Ivy
The indie pop band performs tonight at 7 at the Foundry. The Tulsa-based duo has released three acclaimed EPs and a full-length album. Lyncs and Vince Nerone open the show.

Connor Price
The young singer-songwriter who blends hip-hop, R&B, soul and pop brings his headlining tour to the Agora. “Smoke,” a collaboration with country star Walker Hayes, shows off his ability to mix genres as it finds him rapping and crooning. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Jenny Scheinman
The singer-songwriter brings her tour supporting her new album, All Species Parade, to the Treelawn. The album features her with an ensemble that includes guitarists Bill Frisell, Julian Lage and Nels Cline as well as pianist Carman Staaf, bassist Tony Scherr and drummer Kenny Wollesen. Staff and Scherr will join her for tonight’s show that takes place at 7.

Tri-C Classical Piano Series Presents Clayton Stephenson
Winner of the Young Scholar of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, this pianist will perform works by Schubert, Albéniz and Stravinsky at tonight’s recital. It takes place at 7 p.m. at Tri-C’s Metro Campus auditorium.
