Cleveland is in the Midwest and that means we’re generally pretty friendly and nice people. That doesn’t mean we don’t have tempers, and mentioning one of these 19 things will surely bring that temper out. When it comes to our sports, our food and our city, we’re passionate and it’d be better if you avoided saying these 19 things.

I’m a lifelong Clevelander and have never been to the West Side Market.
This one doesn’t even make sense. Go already!
Photo via Scene ArchivesThe Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame isn’t that cool.
It’s one of the pride and joys of Cleveland and it’s awesome, so don’t talk that mess.
Photo via Scene ArchivesMichael Jordan is better than LeBron James.
Jordan, the six-time NBA Champion, is considered by many to be the greatest basketball player to ever play the game, but LeBron is getting close to him, if he hasn’t passed him already, but LeBron is already considered the greatest around here.
Photo via @PhillySportsOpinions/InstagramDetroit is a better city than Cleveland.
No offense to our neighbors to the north, but this just isn’t true.
Photo via Scene Archives Credit: Scene ArchivesPittsburgh is also a better city.
Yeah, this is false too.
Photo via Scene ArchivesBernie Kosar was overrated.
There’s nothing we hold on to like sports of the bygone eras, and the last time the Browns had any consistently decent teams, Kosar was under center, so you better not say a bad word about him.
Photo via Scene ArchivesI’m from Cleveland and I’ve never seen A Christmas Story.
Are you sure you’re from here?
Photo via Scene ArchivesThe 1990’s Indians were overrated.
From 1995-1999, the Indians set a Major League Baseball record with 455 consecutive sellouts, and although the team fell short of a World Series, those teams are always remembered very fondly and any slander will not be tolerated.
Photo via @Hack1012/InstagramReferring to Lakewood as Cleveland.
It’s a totally different place and not part of the city of Cleveland.
Photo via WikipediaMichigan is better than Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are 15 and 2 in their last 17 contests against the school up north, so this is comically wrong.
Photo via WikipediaThe Cleveland food scene is overrated.
This one might actually cause the person saying it to receive physical harm. Beware.
Photo via Mr. TinDC/FlickrThe Warriors would’ve won the 2015 NBA Finals even if Kyrie and Love were healthy.
Kevin Love got his shoulder pulled out of his socket in the first round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs vs. the Boston Celtics and Kyrie Irving broke his kneecap in overtime of Game 1 of the Finals and Cavaliers fans still believe to this day that they would’ve won the Championship if both were healthy.
Photo via WikipediaChristmas Ale isn’t that good.
Well, maybe you have terrible taste.
Photo via Scene ArchivesThe Browns should move again.
Yeah, the Browns have probably been the worst franchise in all of sports since they came back in 1999, but we still love them and talk about them non-stop and they’re not going anywhere.
Photo via Scene Archives Credit: Scene ArchivesDidn’t the lake catch on fire?
Well, no, it was actually the Cuyahoga River, and not Lake Erie, and it was over 40 years ago now, get over it.
Photo via Scene ArchivesJoel Skinner.
Any Clevelander who roots for the Tribe will forever remember name of the third-base coach who held Kenny Lofton at third instead of sending him home in Game 7 of the 2007 ALCS in Boston. Lofton would’ve scored the tying run but he never scored and the Red Sox went on to score eight runs in the next two innings to break the game wide open..
Photo via @HOF_Holdouts/InstagramBone Thugs N’ Harmony suck.
This is just a terrible opinion.
Photo via Scene ArchivesBatman is better than Superman.
We don’t like when things from here are put down, and Superman was created in Cleveland in 1933 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, which obviously makes him a better superhero than Batman.
