The heat may finally be leaving and we all know what that means — the leaves are changing here in Ohio. You can drive out to the country or the ‘burbs to see the most breathtaking views, or stay in Cleveland proper and see what we have to offer. No matter where you go, the sights and colors will absolutely astound you.

Chagrin Falls If you’re a fan of quaint downtown areas, there’s nowhere better than Chagrin Falls, especially when it comes to seeing the fall colors, especially if you’re overlooking the Falls themselves. Walter Best Wildlife Preserve 11620 Ravenna Rd., Chardon This small preserve, part of the Geauga Park District, has areas for fishing, picnic tables and trails that run along Best Lake. Perfect for a quiet hike and an ideal spot to watch the leaves changing. Photo via Scene Archives
Chez Francois 555 Main St., Vermilion Nestled on the banks of the Vermilion River, this quaint French restaurant reminds us of why we might never need to visit France. South Chagrin Reservation 37374 Miles Rd, Bentleyville Expanding through Moreland Hills, Bentleyville, Chagrin Falls and Solon, this beautiful Metroparks reservation is known for Henry Church Rock (formerly Squaw Rock), a rock formation carved in 1885 that runs along the picturesque Chagrin River. Salt Fork State Park 14755 Cadiz Rd., Lore City Just east of Columbus, this state park is a beautiful place to hike, bike, camp and see all the beautiful colors that fall has to offer. Rocky River Reservation 24000 Valley Pkwy., North Olmsted The Rocky River Reservation expands all the way through Berea, Brook Park, Cleveland, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Olmsted Township, and Rocky River. Patterson Fruit Farm 11414 Caves Rd, Chesterland Patterson Fruit Farm offers the whole autumn package. From the sweeping, breathtaking views to hayrides, to pumpkin painting, this pick-your-own apple farm makes sure Clevelanders know fall has arrived. The drive alone would be worth it for the scenery. North Chagrin Reservation 3037 SOM Center Rd., Willoughby Hills Known mostly for Squires’ Castle, the North Chagrin Reservation also boasts hiking trails to go through the woods. Lake Erie Bluffs 3301 Lane Rd., Perry Lake Erie Bluffs provides a combination of wetland hiking and dry trails. There is access to a natural lake and areas open for fishing.
