The Cleveland State University Art Gallery has hosted the People’s
Art Show for years, open to anyone who submits work. There’s another
people’s art exhibit in town too — the National Arts Program’s
All City Art Shows take place in 85 venues in 44 states annually.
Typically they focus on art by public employees: Police, firefighters,
city hall staffers and other city employees, as well as their families,
can bring work for exhibit. In Cleveland, it’s even more expansive: All
residents are invited to enter. Last year’s exhibit brought more than
200 entries to the gallery; entries are still coming in for this year’s
show, which opens April 9. It’s hosted by Arts Collinwood
Gallery (15605 Waterloo Rd). If you live in Cleveland, bring your
work to the gallery by this Saturday with an entry form. Call

After 50 years onstage, you’d think they’d have the “routing
challenges” of tour booking worked out. But that’s the excuse cited by
Tommy Tune‘s people for canceling his performance scheduled for
Saturday night at PlayhouseSquare’s Palace Theatre. One thing they do
seem to have worked out: giving you your money back. Automatic
refunding is underway, so if you bought tickets on your credit card,
look for a credit to your account. If you bought tickets with cash,
look for a check in the mail. There’s no information yet about the show
being rescheduled.

Call it “ladies night” or “girls’ night out,” but from bars to
shopping centers, it seems any organization trying to draw a crowd has
tried targeting people with vaginas. Next Thursday, April 2, the
Cleveland Play House’s Girls Night Out invites ladies for
drinks, shopping, salon pampering, goodies and a show — the Ann
Landers bio-drama, The Lady With All The Answers, starring Mimi Kennedy, better known as Dharma’s mom on the TV series
Dharma and Greg. She’s not just another TV actress
dipping her toe in theater waters. She’s also had roles in Jules
Feiffer’s Grown-ups, Wendy Graf’s Leipzig (in which she
played a Catholic woman who discovers her Jewish roots), Eugene
O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night and a readers’ theatre
version of Tony Kushner’s Only We Who Guard the Mystery Shall Be
Unhappy, in which she played Laura Bush. For $40, you get shopping
