Sevendust commemorates its 10th anniversary this year by returning to its jagged roots on the new Alpha. Rather than overreach with twisty, complex songs and spit-polished production, the Atlanta quintet sticks to the hard, blunt sound that netted oodles of fans back in the day. The album debuted at No. 14 last month — not a bad showing for a band that looked down for the count three years ago. Be sure to get there early for opener Diecast, which also marks a decade of head-snapping riffs this year. On its latest CD, Internal Revolution, The Boston band is solid metalcore — relentless in its pursuit of staccato beats and scaling guitar fills.
