The world’s greatest punk band, the Clash, finally gets its due at the Rock Hall. Revolution Rock: The Story of the Clash features tons of memorabilia from group members’ personal collections, including clothes, instruments, and handwritten lyrics to many of their best songs, including “London Calling” and “Clampdown.” The exhibit also includes the bass Paul Simonon shattered on the cover of London Calling — what’s left of it. Clash members (including Joe Strummer’s widow) helped organize this first major exhibit dedicated to the band — which is tied to the upcoming release of The Singles, a four-CD box of all the band’s A and B sides.
