Starting in 2013, Maria’s Field of Hope in Avon has blown away visitors and Instagramers alike with its sheer beauty. In 2019, a Sandusky location was added. The Prayers from Maria Children’s Glioma Cancer Foundation is named in honor of Maria McNamara, an Ohio 7-year-old who passed away in 2007 from a glioma (brain tumor). The foundation raises funds for research and treatment of that type of cancer. The Sandusky location’s sunflowers are in bloom in August and in Avon in September.
