Concert Photos and Review: Howie Day Brought the 20th Anniversary of 'Stop All the World Now' Tour to the Music Box Supper Club

Howie Day is a pretty great performer. He's funny and interacts a lot with the audience. Where acoustic songs can sometimes start to sound the same after a while, one after the other, he used samplers and effects pedals with his guitar to mix things up at his show at the Music Box Supper Club. I was immediately impressed; it was very different.

Howie, age 43 from Bangor, Maine, blends pop rock with indie rock for a unique sound. His song “Collide and She Says” is perhaps his most successful song to date, and representative of that mix.

Howie opened the 2 hour-plus show with “Madrigals,” followed by “Bunnies,” off the Lanterns LP, “Treetops,” and his new song "Eye of the Storm."

Howie’s energy is truly amazing and this show was very heartfelt, including storytelling with life experiences that he shared between songs. Day’s warm tenor voice soars into many of his songs.

Switching between his two guitars and keyboard during the show, he went into "Trouble in Here," "Sunday Morning Song," "I'll Take You On," and "She Says."

His vocals and one-man live percussion and harmonies make him sound like more than a one-man band.
