A 24 year old local artist, Esbeey Madera has organized the beautification event that takes place today from 4 to 7 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the event’s start, Madera and a group of volunteers will paint the fire hydrants and the trash bins on Fulton and Clark. “Our end goal is to brighten up the community, paint and motivate the younger children/teens to follow their dreams,” says Madera in an email she sent out about the event. “We want to change the city one step at a time.” Meet at the Omni Building at 3167 Fulton Rd. (Niesel)
