Now in its tenth year, Kent’s Art & Wine Festival, which takes place today from noon until 10 p.m. at the Hometown Bank Plaza and the surrounding sections of North Water and West Main Streets, has become a summer staple. A $20 ticket includes a commemorative wine tasting glass and ten taste tickets to be redeemed at several featured Ohio wineries, including Barrel Run Crossing of Rootstown, Gervasi Vineyard of Canton, Grape & Granary of Akron, Troutman Vineyards of Wooster, Maize Valley of Hartville, It’s Your Winery of Medina, McAlpine Meadery of Beach City and the Winery at Wolf Creek of Norton. This year’s featured artists will showcase painting, stained glass, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and fabric. The food options include offerings from the local artisan cheese shop, Kent Cheesemonger, as well as local sweets, ice cream and popcorn. Local singer-songwriters such as Randy Horvath, Diana Chittester, Ian Penter and Brent Kirby are slated to perform. (Niesel)
