Dan Wilson

The first reaction of any first time listener to Dan Wilson’s virtuosic jazz guitar playing has to be the question, “How is this guy still stuck playing nightclubs.” His traditional style of jazz guitar alongside a simple drum kit and upright bass provides hours of entertainment as the trio improves its way through numerous solos and 15-minute extended songs. The work is by no means experimental but makes the work accessible to all audiences and still jaw droppingly impressive as Wilson runs his fingers up and down the fret board with lightning fast speed that seems effortless. And it will certainly be a treat to hear him play in the intimate Akron Civic Theater. (Hoffman)
