In addition to its main gallery, which typically features group shows with multiple artists, Heights Arts’ Spotlight Gallery showcases a small body of work by one selected artist. Currently on view in the Spotlight Gallery, Kate Snow’s Grid Series: Communities explores and celebrates both the physical community of Cleveland Heights, as well as the “seemingly disparate” communities of fine art and digital media. Snow’s Grid Series includes a collection of framed works created with traditional materials (gouache and graphite), as well as an integrated digital work displayed on a gallery screen. Viewers are encouraged to engage and interact with the digital composition by rearranging the patterns, changing the colors and more. In conjunction with the exhibition, Heights Arts hosts Blurring the Line: Defining Art in the Digital Age, a panel discussion and community Q&A, at 7 tonight. A panel will explore topics such as how viewers’ experiences with art are being transformed by digital media, as well as discussing whether the gap between fine art and digital communities is closing. Admission is free. (Usmani)
