Kofi's "Back to Berklee” Fundraising Event

Akron native Kofi R. Boakye, a 21- year-old Emmy-Nominated pianist, will host a fundraising concert tonight at Edgar’s Restaurant in Akron to support his financial efforts as he aims to return back to Berklee College of Music in 2022. Back in 2019, Boakye crowdfunded his first year at the college. His fundraising achievements along with a partial scholarship from Berklee helped him get through his first year. The event will feature an opening performance by local R&B music group the After Party followed by a special live performance by Boakye. Tickets are $25 for advance general admission and $30 for at the door. Donations and sponsorships can be made through the ticket link. It all begins at 8. 530 Nome Ave., Akron, 330-869-3000, KofiBMusic.com.
