Summerland Tour 2014 featuring Everclear/Soul Asylum/Eve 6/Spacehog

If you need an introduction to the likes of Everclear, Soul Asylum, Eve 6 and Spacehog, then you clearly missed the mid- to late-90s boat of bitchin’ alt-rock. And that just means that you simply must check out the Summerland Tour, which arrives in Northeast Ohio this week. Those four bands represent a combined sonic journey through a really awesome time in American music. Their respective iconic albums are: So Much for the Afterglow, Grave Dancers Union, Eve 6 and Resident Alien. Each of those works pulls together some of the most nostalgic sounds from a very particular era. Even better, almost, are the music videos that accompany the likes of “Father of Mine,” “Inside Out,” and “In the Meantime.” There are plenty of reasons why the aesthetics of 1990s culture are in vogue these days; this music is just one of them.
