We made a surprise stop to the recently rehabbed Brickhouse Bar & Grill, where owner Chuck Colletti was busy wiping down the oak bar during a happy hour full of Slavic Village regulars. He was quick to talk about the “thousands of dollars” he spent to overhaul the club. “We basically gutted the property. We cleaned up all the problems, too,” says Colletti. “This is not a low-end spot.”
But the price of a beer is. During Crazy Hour between 6 and 7 p.m., a bottle of domestic brew costs a measly buck. Got a couple more Georges in your wallet? Any one of the 60 imported microbrews runs $3. “A third of our business has been our imports,” says Colletti. “Word of mouth has been everything.” …
