More good news for downtown dwellers and workers: Souper Market’s new location on East 6th St. in the former Tea House Noodles spot is now open and dishing up hearty bowls.

Tea House Noodles closed up shop last August and Souper Market owner Matthew Moore quickly hopped on the opportunity.

“From the get-go I always wanted to get downtown and for whatever reason it never panned out,” he told us.

Moore launched his popular soup-kitchen concept back in 2002, when he debuted the first Souper Market in Ohio City, across the street from the West Side Market. He’s since added outposts in Lakewood and Kamm’s Corners, plus the location in Midtown that is attached to the company’s central kitchen.

The downtown location opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Vince Grzegorek has been with Scene since 2007 and editor-in-chief since 2012. He previously worked at Discount Drug Mart and Texas Roadhouse.
