Will Hollingsworth had a goal of opening Easy Out (11822 Detroit Ave.), a new sports bar in Lakewood, in time for this year’s Super Bowl. It appears that he will squeak in under the wire. Fans can begin grabbing stools at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 8.
“The food is tasting really good, the place looks super-cool and, honestly, I’m really proud of it,” says Hollingsworth.
Easy Out, set in the former Ohio Inn space, joins other Buildings and Food concepts such as Prosperity Social Club in Tremont, Good Company in Battery Park, Old 86 in Detroit Shoreway, and La Cave du Vin in Tremont.
The menu, like all food programs under the Buildings and Food umbrella, is overseen by new VP of Culinary, Jill Vedaa. In the kitchen, chef Vance Case, formerly of Good Company, delivers a menu of bar food classics like wings, corndogs, hot dogs, salads, burgers and chili.
“Taking that Good Company attention to detail and quality and applying it to sports bar food,” is how Hollingsworth describes it.
To drink, there is “dad beer,” craft beer, cocktails, hard seltzers and a decidedly non-sports bar wine list courtesy of wine director Sean Cathcart.
Easy Out’s interior features wall-to-wall screens airing local and national sports, vintage Cleveland sports memorabilia and room enough to gather in groups. During breaks from the live action, folks can throw darts and play classic bar games.
“I set out to envision an honest and amazing throwback bar and restaurant for my favorite neighborhood,” says Jeffrey Siefer, Buildings and Food Director of Ops. “A truly incredible team has come together to turn an idea into reality. I couldn’t be more proud of what folks will walk into, experience, and taste.”
