Our favorite quick serve pit stop, Chipotle, is once again giving away free grub, this time in recognition of tax day, Monday, April 16. Just buy a burrito, taco, bol, or salad on Saturday April 14 or Sunday April 15; keep the receipt; fill out the cutesy 2006 BurritoEZ form, available at the eatery; and return on Monday to claim a free meal. The deal’s worth about $6.
As you might guess, we aren’t big fans of fast food: Our job allows for far more classy ways to wreck our diet. Still, we have to admit to digging Chipotle’s natural-foods concept, and to the occasional craving for their carnitas burrito, made with succulent free-range pork from Niman Ranch.
And while we dishing out dietary confessions, we might as well add that we sometimes find ourselves at the Arby’s drive-thru window, jonesing for mozzarella sticks — those gooey, crunchy little diet busters with an awe-inspiring 1,370 mg. of sodium per serving. And yes, we would like a 498-calorie Jamocha shake with that. — Elaine T. Cicora
