Chef Jonathan Sawyer and his wife Amelia could use your help decorating their new restaurant, Trentina, which is slated to open later this spring.
Trentina is taking over the former Sergio’s restaurant spot in University Circle and the Sawyers are looking to change up the decor a bit; they plan to make a hand-beaded chandelier the restaurant’s focal point.
To bring their decorative ambitions to fruition, the Sawyers have partnered with the Museum of Contemporary Art and plan to get the community involved. Each visitor to the Intermission exhibit at MOCA can stop by the first floor to put a single colored bead on a string, which will later be used to form the chandelier.
“When the chandelier is complete, color beads will represent the entire community who came out to show their hometown love,” the MOCA website explains.
Participation is free and folks can place their beads on Saturdays and Sundays through April 13.

Well that’s kind of cool. It’s a way to get the community involved without having to actually have original works of art from some members of the community.
