Add this to the growing list of reasons to catch the Tribe in action this season: The hot dogs at Progressive Field have been named the best in the major leagues.
The folks at the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, which apparently is a real thing, put together a March Madness-style bracket to determine the cream of the ball park hot dog crop.
The Indians took home first place in the “Classic” dog category, referring to our traditional dogs with the basic fixings (relish, ketchup or Bertman’s Ball Park Mustard), and even earned us a shoutout on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The Texas Rangers’ Boomstick, a 24-inch, three-pound hot dog, took second place, while the Atlanta Braves’ Dixie Dog, a foot-long topped with pulled pork, barbecue sauce and slaw, nabbed third.
