Especially for a restaurant focused on cheese, Melt goes above and beyond to cater to Vegan dietary needs. Not only do they have Vegan sides and soups, you can always swap the cheese on any sandwich for Vegan cheese. They even have two options! Credit: The Kindergarten
Melt Bar and Grilled, the Cleveland-based company known for slinging wildly good grilled cheese sandwiches, is eyeing a new retail space in Montrose, Ohio.com reports.

“[Melt] plans to move into the old Friendly’s location at 3921 Medina Road (state Route 18), in the busy Montrose retail area of Bath Township,” Ohio.com’s Katie Byard wrote earlier this week. A late 2015 or early 2016 open date is in the works, she said.

This would be the seventh stand-alone brick-and-motor shop for Melt, which also has locations in Lakewood, Cleveland Heights, Independence, Mentor, Short North, and Easton, as well as a mini-Melt in the CWRU Student Center and a walk-up stand at Progressive Field, making it increasingly difficult to ignore those uncontrollable grilled cheese cravings when they hit.

We’ve reached out to Melt’s Matt Fish for comment, but haven’t heard back yet. We suspect he’s hard at work creating new and delicious menu items to slather in cheese.

Update: 11:26 a.m.

Melt’s Matt Fish reached out to Scene to let us know that no official announcement will be made yet, and that a timeline has not yet been released.
