The Tremont bistro across from Lincoln Park opened in December 2016 at an address that had previously been home to a long line of operators including Ligali’s, Porcelli’s, Bistro on Lincoln Park and Sage Bistro.
“After a crazy week of meeting and looking at numbers my partner and I have decided that we are closing Merchant Street at the end of the next week,” he wrote. “We are entertaining changing the venue and have been approached by a few who want to take over this lovely space overlooking Lincoln Park , but it was just not covering its cost as it was. The restaurant world has changed a lot in the last number of years in this city. So many new restaurants, so many new neighborhoods. I appreciate all those who came to love our restaurant, our creative menu and new chef, but it was just not enough to keep going. It was a good run and anyone who knows me understands I would never sacrifice quality over anything. Please come in this week and say hello. Love you all.”
