Come September, visitors to Las Vegas will be able to enjoy the sights, smells and flavors of Cleveland – well, at least a sliver of our fair city. That’s when Michael Symon is expected to open Mabel’s BBQ, part of an ambitious $620 million renovation currently underway at the iconic Palms Casino Resort.

“The re-imagination will touch virtually every aspect of the property and is expected to transform the Palms into a must see gaming and entertainment destination,” says Nicole Lando, Vice President of Alison Brod Marketing and Communications.

Michael Symon, a James Beard and Iron Chef winner and co-host of ABC’s The Chew, will be making his Las Vegas debut with Mabel’s, which of course will be serving the Cleveland chef’s take on barbecue.

Symon joins pals Marc Vetri and Bobby Flay in the project, each of whom are opening new eateries within the resort. James Beard award-winning chef Vetri will open Vetri Cucina, which will feature his critically-acclaimed Italian fare, while James Beard award-winning chef Flay will open a sushi and seafood concept.

  1. I hope it goes poorly.

Michael Symon should turn his attention to his eyesore in Tremont. He’s like a slumlord keeping his windows shuddered on Professor Avenue. Clearly some kind of rich guy tax write off plan happening there. Maybe even after collecting some funny money from the insurance company.

The guy has gone completely commercial phony. Great example Michael. Sell out and leave one of the best corners in Cleveland looking like cr##.

  2. To the fool who wrote the above comment, you are utterly clueless and have no business posting such sour-grapes nonsense. I’m not surprised that you were too cowardly to post under your actual name.

  3. Oak and Embers both gives you more for your money and tastes better than Mabel’s.
