Our pals over at Great Lakes Brewing Company revealed today the new artwork for their five year-round brews, Dortmunder Gold, Eliot Ness, Burning River, Commodore Perry, and Edmund Fitzgerald.
The new labels, crafted by artist Darren Booth, will begin circulating in May.
Cheers.

I like the new font. I don’t like the paintings. The Dort one looks like it was made by a 3rd grader.
Non-discript labels, doesn’t present the quality in the label that is in the product. Looks like an amateur did it in his basement. Obviously a departure from what has made Great Lakes the quality label we have come to know.
the picture above is a computer rendering, not a printed label and photograph, so they look very flat.
love the refresh, excited to see them for real.
trolls, the whole lot of ya. I for one am excited that the old guard of craft brewing in this city, let alone in all of the Midwest, has opted for a brand refresh that still isn’t a total departure from their original look and feel. Clearly a few of these commenters calling the paintings in the new labels “amateur” never saw the sneak peeks the brewery was leaking throughout the process. GLBC released close-up details of each painting, and they’re nothing short of fascinating. They spell out the history and heritage of our great city. As GLBC’s distribution grows, so too then, does the gospel of The ‘Land. Praise be to Moses Cleveland and the Conway Brothers!
The new labels are so cool up close…this picture doesn’t do them justice!
I’m not a fan of the change to the Dortmunder label. The old label was iconic. The new label does look amateurish and doesn’t do the contents justice. Big mistake changing it.
