Now in its 13th year, Prosperity Social Club’s Fish Fry is set to begin on March 8, and it’ll continue through April 19. Chef Ed Kubitz will prep more than 2,000 fried fish meals for the event, which runs over the course of seven Fridays.

To meet demand, the kitchen will open at 11 a.m. on Fridays and serve fish-specials until midnight.

“During Lent, you can sit down for Friday lunch in Tremont or pickup something to take back to the office,” says Prosperity Social Club owner Bonnie Flinner in a press release about the event.

Lunch-only specials include the Minnow (two pieces of beer battered haddock and slaw) and a fish sandwich (with lettuce and tomato on a toasted bun).

The most popular menu item features flaky haddock, homemade slaw, house tartar sauce and mac-and-cheese. There’s even a supersize version of the meal that comes with a scoop of mac-and-cheese, side of slaw, cup of chowder and two potato pierogi with caramelized onions and a dollop of sour cream.

“We call our ultimate fry ‘Gotta Haddock,’ and this year we have a Sibling Revelry Brewing private label ‘a lure-ing’ pilsner by the same name,” says Flinner. “It’s an easy drinking brew that pairs well with cheese or fish . . . in fact diners tell it’s a great complement to just about anything on our menu.”
