Swensons Drive-In continues its takeover of the Cleveland area, recently announcing plans for another new location. This time around the renowned Akron-based cheeseburger company is adding a spot in Brooklyn at 4660 Ridge Road.

The Brooklyn Planning Commission recently approved the restaurant group to tear down an old plaza and put up a 1,700-square-foot building in its place. This is set to be the 13th Swensons location.

As CEO Jeff Flowers confessed to Scene two years ago, when Swensons first expanded to University Heights: “We’re definitely working hard to get some new sites open in Cleveland. We’re slow, we’re methodical, and we’re going to make sure we do things right.”

Flowers seems to be good on his word, but, after all this time, there’s still no hint at when a Swensons will open downtown Cleveland or a nearby neighborhood.

The new Brooklyn location should be open sometime this year.
