This week for Q104, our food critic talks greasy spoon diners.
Greasy spoons are the next generation of Happy Days style diners of the 50’s. They traditionally serve all three meal periods and most stay open late into the wee-hours of the night.
Other traits of the greasy spoon include being reasonably priced, predominantly designed with booths or a counter, and a ton a great people watching.

Eat at Joes in South Euclid should have been on this list. It’s the best diner in Cleveland hands down.

Kalie’s in South Euclid is far better than all of these places!
I visited the Big Boy chrome diner across from the (old school) Polka Hall of Fame. I know it was 20 years ago but I still remember the generous folks, & good food there!
None of these are open late night except the one in Lakewood, and Rubins. I would have included Steve’s on Lorain
