The Funhouse, a Circus-Themed Bar, Opens in Former Spitfire Spot

While one could give a valid argument that a bar is a circus of sorts, one just opened on the city’s west side that takes it to a new level.

That is, a bar that looks very much like a circus. The circus-themed bar dubbed The Funhouse just opened at 1539 West 117th Street, complete with games and optical illusions and LOTS of stripes. The bar’s owner previously operated Spitfire, a punk rock themed dive bar with a loyal local following. 

There won’t be any live music at The Funhouse, but there will be boozy slushies to choose from, ya know, beers and liquor and all the other things that bars usually offer.

The bar is open daily beginning at 4 p.m.
