Parma has said goodbye to another one-of-a-kind joint that has enriched the local food community for decades. The Hot Dog Diner, which was opened by Dave and Natalie Teare in 2005, has closed.

Originally located on Brookpark Road, the restaurant eventually relocated to 5494 Pearl Road, formerly home to a Taco Bell. The Teares announced their retirement in 2023, at which point they named a relative as a business successor.

That family member recently shared that the restaurant was closing last week, while also sharing that a new home would be announced in the coming days or weeks.

“To our valued customers, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors, effective immediately. We were originally planning to stay open through today, but the incredible demand we’ve experienced this week has been truly overwhelming!

We want to thank everyone who has visited us this week and let us know what The Hot Dog Diner meant to them and the community, it’s been wonderful to hear about so many blissful memories and experiences.

This decision is bittersweet, but it comes with exciting news—we are moving to a new location, which we will be announcing soon!”

We’ll keep you posted if and when the new location is revealed.
