Uber says it’s showing commitment to the Black Lives Matter movement by waiving delivery fees on its Uber Eats app for Black-owned businesses for the remainder of 2020.

The app’s delivery fees typically run $3 to $5.

“Uber stands in solidarity with the Black community and with peaceful protests against the injustice and racism that have plagued our nation for too long,” CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in an emailed statement. “My hope is that if each of us recommits to doing all we can to counter bigotry wherever we see it, change will follow.”

The app is even making it easier to locate black-owned businesses in users’ delivery areas by offering a prompt when it’s opened.

What’s more, Uber is donating $1 million to the Center for Policing Equity, which works to measure bias in policing, and the Equal Justice Initiative, which aims to end mass incarceration and racial inequality.

“We know this isn’t enough. It won’t be enough until we see true racial justice. But we plan to work day in and day out to improve, learn and grow as a company,” Khosrowshahi said in the email.

“Lastly, let me speak clearly and unequivocally: Black Lives Matter.”

  2. Sorry, I wouldn’t eat Soul Food even if you paid me. Unfortunately for those on the list I will fully boycott them in the future.

    I will continue to do this until they demonize Scene and it’s divisive content.

    If these businesses refuse to do the right thing for America and speak out against Media Outlets diving the Country I will be forced to wish misfortune upon all of them.

    I vote with my dollars, that’s why I support Chick-Fil-A and Townhall.

  4. The real problem is that equality is really a myth, and it isn’t really achievable.
    Nature creates variation, so everyone is uniquely different, and no two people are exactly alike.
    This is also true for African-Americans– that is, no two African-Americans are exactly alike, which also means that they aren’t really equal.
    For instance, LeBron James and Spike Lee are both African-Americans, but LeBron James can’t direct motion pictures as well as Spike Lee, and Spike Lee can’t dunk a basketball as well as LeBron James.
    However, both LeBron James and Spike Lee both have something that gives them an societal advantage over the vast majority of white Americans– that is, many millions of dollars.
    LeBron James has an estimated net worth of $500 million dollars, and Spike Lee has an estimated net worth of between $40 to $50 million dollars.
    Being very wealthy gives both LeBron James and Spike Lee many opportunities than the vast majority of Americans– no matter what race they are– won’t ever have.
    Money is opportunity. Money is also freedom. Money is also power.
    What good is it to have the freedom to travel around the world if you can’t afford to buy the plane ticket and no money to spend on the trip?
    There is no way to make everyone equal, but if you want to help others to be better off, give them some money or at least the opportunity to earn money.
    If Uber really wants to help African-Americans, it should hire more black Uber drivers.
    However, even if it did so, there would still be inequality amongst Uber drivers, because some Uber drivers will hustle and make more money than others will, because of having a stronger work ethic and more personal drive.

  8. So, there’s a housing crisis on the way from State ordered lockdowns due to the Covid Plandemic, we suddenly have a race and policing crisis.

    The media has been gaslighting us since Covid about Blacks being “disproportionately affected” on the same day they report about “teens” gathering en masse at AirBnb parties.

    That same Media condemns armed but peaceful rioters reminding their elected officials who they answer to. They’re now calling it patriotic to burn and loot your own neighborhoods.

    Every musician, every Late Night Talk Show Host every actor, and almost every sports star except for Drew Brees(he was attacked by Akron’s own LBJ, who doesn’t let his minimal education ever stand in his way of $$$$) repeats the same programmed line.

    We have, on record 24/7, thousands of channels broadcast of people sounding the exact same about everything. Trying to brainwash anyone with an opposing opinion.

  9. They need to lower the fees they charge the restaurants. I don’t mind paying for delivery. I do mind using services that charge such exorbitant rates to the businesses they are claiming to be supporting.
