Rubber
In this new movie, a tire goes on a killing spree in a desert town. The tire has a name. And it’s obsessed with a woman. We shit you not. Is it a joke? Of course. But writer-director Quentin Dupieux isn’t quite sure whether Rubber is a satire, a black comedy, or a parody of modern horror flicks. Either way, if this isn’t the best movie about a killer tire you’ve ever seen, we’ll stroll down Euclid Avenue naked with the Goodyear logo slapped across our chest. Double-Stop
This little-seen 1968 movie, made in Cleveland by two Shaker Heights brothers, is about an artsy suburban couple on the fence about sending -their kid to an integrated inner-city school. It was recently restored, so hopefully more people will see it now. Cleveland Museum of Art’s Morley Lecture Hall. At 7 p.m. Friday, May 27.
The First Grader
True story about an 84-year-old Kenyan dude (who used to be a freedom fighter) who goes to school for the very first time. Yes, he sits in a classroom and learns the basics with a bunch of six-year-olds. Opens Friday at the Cedar Lee Theatre.
Forks Over Knives
Documentary about how bad processed and animal-based foods are for you. If you’re not a vegetarian before you see it, chances are pretty good you will be by the time you leave the theater. So load up on the Big Macs beforehand. Opens Friday at the Cedar Lee Theatre.
A King in New York

This 1961 version of Samuel
