The Capitol Theatre recently announced that it’ll host a special screening of the documentary Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17. Marc “Skippy” Price [pictured] and Joe Kashnow will each do a live stand-up comedy set before a screening of the film about how veterans using comedy to deal with their injuries.

Known as Skippy from the ’80s sitcom Family Ties, Price has opened for Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld. He’s starred in movies and hosted late night talk shows. Wounded by a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2003, Kashnow spent almost two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC learning how to walk with what remained of his leg. He began his standup comedy career in 2012, and he also works as a motivational speaker.

Tickets are $25. Veterans and active duty military personnel will be admitted free with proper ID. Tickets are available at the theater box office or online at clevelandcinemas.com. Veteran and military passes are only available at the theater box office.
