Heya Cleveland, ready for our 16 seconds of fame?

Actually it’s more like half a second.

Right around the 0:08 mark of the newly released Captain America: The Winter Solider trailer, you can get a glimpse of our beloved Cleveland West Shoreway serving as a backdrop for a dramatic car explosion.

Hope you think it’s worth the 2+ weeks of traffic problems.

Check it out:

The film is set to be released in April 2014.

  1. no clue why they were able to do that for only 20 freaking dollars. that didn’t even cover what it cost for crews to actually close off that stretch.

  2. I think the city is reimbursed by the film for the costs of blocking the road and re-routing traffic. Local businesses, hotels, and rental car services would probably say it was worth it. Not too mention, anyone who acquired a full-time job during the filming.

  3. it is a trailer-get over it Scene. It was worth it, and drive the west shoreway daily. Is the Scene as exercised that the city plans to turn the west shoreway into a 35 MPH parking lot like Mayfield Road?

  4. All that work and the final insult is having our shoreway turn into a 35 MPH traffic light mess (probably turning ever two minutes). I hope we get tickets to the premiere but something tells me that only the east side will get tickets. Is anyone worried that “our” premiere” is on April Fools Day?
