According to a report by the New York Daily News, House of Cards' star Kate Mara has been cast to play Michelle Knight in an upcoming Lifetime movie based on the captivity of Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus on Seymour Ave.

Sony Pictures is at the helm, and producers there "are desperate" for Mara to play Knight, a source told the New York Daily News.

“They feel that Kate would be able to capture Michelle’s vulnerability and psychological pain — something she excelled at as Zoe Barnes."

(It appears Mara hasn't officially signed on, only that she's the current favorite).

The report also says that producers are looking for a "reasonably known" TV actor to portray Ariel Castro. A short list includes Breaking Bad's David Costabile, who weirdly looks the part, and Emilo Estevez, who does not.

On May 6, it will have been a full year since Amanda, Gina and Michelle were rescued, and their story became an international sensation.
