If you live in Cleveland, you’ve probably at least heard of “Super Pimp,” the mustachioed guy in odd suits who’s always seen in Cleveland’s night clubs (and the subject of a 2012 Scene cover story, “The Soul of Super Pimp“).

And soon, there will be a documentary, debuting at the 39th International Cleveland Film Festival on Thursday, March 26. The trailer was released today, and you should check it out below:

  1. Love this man! Reminiscing some of my most memorable nights downtown CLE with SP in the booth tossing back snake bites! CLE nightlife/social super hero…. Keep rocking for me Mike! Much love brotha -JK

  2. What an absolute loser. No chicks like him after they get their token joke photo taken. I’ve never seen him pull any ass… Ever. He is literally batting 0-270,987. Maybe they should do an extremely short film on the success of his sweet bar called The Mixx, the only club that closed down before its grand opening.

  3. Isn’t he like 70 years old? My God. Give it up already Toth. Your act is pathetically tired and nothing about you is humorous. You are not a pimp. Stop embarrassing our city. This film is a mockumentary of your life. You are just a VERY old, VERY creepy, attention seeking circus act.

  4. I am still waiting line to get into the Mixx. God that was such a great idea. Toth sucks he stole his act from James (Sexy Mother Father). I hope the ending of the movie is him admitting he is a loser and he “ain’t get no p****”.

  5. I am so tired of hearing about this guy. Unless it’s his obituary, can we stop putting his name in print?

  6. I can’t wait for the documentary of the dude who hangs out at Parmatown and South Park malls with the LED scrolling belt buckle, moon boots, neon vest and the 80s workout spandex

  7. I would like for Scene to do a follow up article on Mike’s self-proclaimed “Vegas-style pool party” club in Broadview Heights called The Mixx. I don’t know about all of you, but when I hear “Vegas pool party,” i immediately think of a small, unoccupied vinyl sided hut in the rear of an off the road catering center with a 5×5 abandoned kiddie pool out back, that is only open for 4hrs a week. And of course, it’s gotta be cash only, bc everyone knows Vegas clubs are too cheap to pay merchant fees in order to accept credit card payments, right? I believe many Las Vegas hotels are now following The Mixx’s business model, so this would be a great story on how a cleveland “legend” changed the landscape of Sin City’s pool scene.

  8. I’m interested in talking w director about getting this film ready for a debut in Cannes next year. We would like to also discuss superpimp in a starring role as “Rocky Dennis” in a remake of the movie “Mask” that our studio has planned for 2017 release. Have your people get in touch.

  9. This guy really does not parooze the bars looking for action. If you’ve ever actually spoken with him he does a TON of charity work and is a legitimate party motivator. To everyone’s point about his failed club, at least he had the stones to go for it. He may be batting 0-276,000 but again, that’s not his goal. Before you flame the guy for whatever you may THINK you know about him, try actually talking to him in person before you get your internet muscles working and talk smack.

  10. To Dumb, Bigfoot, Little Mikey, Richard Charles, Twixmaster. I would just like to take a moment to thank you all for your kind, & positive words. The world is a better place when someone takes the time to be uplifting force to another human being. Have a great weekend, & I’ll save you a front row ticket to the documentary. 😀

  11. For the record, here is short account of what happened with the attempt to open my club called the ‘Mixx’. Opening night for the indoor part of the club was a great success. Thanx to all who came. Between that opening & the scheduled opening of the outdoor pool, the owner of the facility backed out of the deal due to financial problems surrounding the venue. Unfortunately, the pool never opened, which of course, never gave the idea a chance to succeed, or fail. Very disappointing…everything happens for a a reason. Next time….

  12. To Dumb, Bigfoot, RichardCharles, Little Mikey, & Twixmaster… I would like to take a moment to thank you for your kind, & positive words of encouragement. The world is always a better place when someone takes the time to try & uplift another human being. Have a great weekend, & will be sure to leave you guys front row tickets for my documentary. 😀

  13. I remember running across this guy a couple times like twenty years ago, props to him for the film doc, sure he had fun making it.. which is what life is all about.
What I don’t like is how he takes a jab at people who don’t mind staying home and watching a movie on Friday or Saturday night, that somehow wandering around by yourself through the streets of Cleveland for the better part of 2 decades is living while the other is not.
I would expect someone who wraps himself in brightly colored zoot-suits and basically panhandles for attention would understand that everyone is different and one man’s idea of living might be another man’s idea of loneliness.

  14. I saw all the pics posted from Mixx’s opening night. There were 4 people there and 2 of them were bartenders w zero customers. Here’s what probably happened: the hallucinogens the owners were on when they agreed to let you use their space finally wore off. They realized after their registers racked up a grand total $11 on opening night that it was a terrible concept and they pulled out before they lost their ass. This guy claiming that it took “stones” to open your own place needs to remember something…it doesn’t take “stones” to put other people’s money on the line.

No need to “save seats” to debut… There won’t be anyone else there!

James the mall guy is the only true symbol of this city. You’ll never escape from his shadow Toth! It’s time to hang it up.

  15. Mike Hall… I appreciate the fact you post a profile pic with your comments. Some others are not man enough. Sorry you misunderstood my statement in the film. I don’t ever criticize how anyone else chooses to live their life…as long as they aren’t hurting others. I stay home many nights & enjoy movies, family etc. as well. When I’m out, I’m just being me, no act, no alter ego. If you met me 20 yrs ago, for better or worse, I’m the same person today. People are drawn to me, & I like the notarity it brings. It affords me the power & opportunity to lend my name, & time to many charitable causes. Probably won’t change your mind about me, but that’s not the purpose. Best to you & yours.

  16. Mike.. nothing wrong with colorful characters, but the whole idea behind self-promotion, in whatever form that takes, is that others are willing to watch. So you shouldn’t disparage those that are more comfortable with taking in the sights than they are being part of them. In the end, aren’t those the ones you need?.. so why marginalize them? Doesn’t make much sense.
    Peace.

  17. All I have to say is I can’t wait until the Super Pimp movie comes out. He is a local legend and Cleveland! I was going to downtown Clevland and the Flats from when I was 21 years old up until about 35, and the Super Pimp has been going downtown as long as I can remember. He is a great and personable guy. Very friendly. I do have to say one thing, his collection of suits must be massive! Party on Super Pimp!

  18. Hey Mike, these other guys are just haters. I’ve never known you to be anything but friendly, fun and genuine. Keep on ROCKIN’ the 216!

  19. You damn hipsters can keep hating…This is a Player of the upmost PIMP PIMP! HORRAY GREEN FOR THE MONEY GOLD FOR THE HONEY!

  20. When can we get a story on the tiny, creepy mustachioed man that has been frequenting the Lakewood bar scene for as long as I can remember?

  21. Funny how all the haters here are men. If you ask me, they’re just jealous and WISH they were him. Super Pimp keep pimpin’ on because Cleveland loves you 🙂
