Barenaked Ladies have played Cleveland since the early days so it’s not a surprise that the Canadian alt-rock band would play here as part of its just announced Last Summer on Earth Tour. “It’s the Last Summer On Earth… Again! It’s not a doomsday prediction; it’s a call to action,” says band leader Ed Robertson in a press release. “We sincerely hope this won’t be the Last Summer on Earth, but just in case, we’re going to ROCK like it is!!” The tour, which pairs it with Violent Femmes and Colin Hay of Men At Work, kicks off on June 5 in Columbus and includes a June 6 stop at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica. Tickets to the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20. Each tour date will have VIP upgrade packages available.
