Classically trained Will B (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin), the two musicians who make up the classical/pop/hip-hop group Black Violin, have just announced dates for a 2019 tour. They’ll perform at 7 p.m. on April 14 at the State Theatre.

Their mission, as described in a press release announcing the show, is to “fuse classical, pop and hip-hop to create a kaleidoscope of sounds that are uniquely Black Violin.”

Self-described “high school orchestra nerds,” the two have opened for acts such as Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Alicia Keys and Kanye West.

Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday.
