I haven’t had a chance to play Guitar Hero 5 yet, but I plan to spend the long holiday weekend jamming my ass off, so don’t even think of stopping by. Needless to say, I haven’t even come close to unlocking any of the cool things you get to see only after you’ve played the game for 379 hours straight.
Apparently, late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is an unlockable character in Career Mode, and you can make him sound like Flava Flav, bounce around to songs he wouldn’t be caught dead bouncing around to (sorry), and sing songs by other artists.
Some dude found out just how low Cobain’s estate will go toward selling his legacy. The hellmouth opens around the 25-second mark, when the awful, awful intro to professional liars Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” rings out. For the next few minutes, Cobain —leader of one of the best bands of the ’90s — fronts one of the worst bands of all time, Bon Jovi.

I do think Cobain should have been left out of the game because seriously, let the man rest in peace. Courtney Love is still milking him for ever dime she can. That being said, Bon Jovi is one of the BEST bands of all times. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are amazing song writers and Jon is one of the few front men of the 80s that can still sing and put out a great, relevant album. Yeah, it’s un-nerving to see Jon’s vocals come from Cobain…but only because Jon is a million times the front man Cobain ever was. We all have our own opinion but I find our hatred for Bon Jovi to be a bit misguided and overly intense. You were probably forced to listen to “Wanted Dead or Alive” one too many time growing up weren’t you?
I think what your saying is completely wrong. First of all, I wouldn’t be as angry as I am right now if you had simply said “I Believe That Bon Jovi is One of the Worst Bands Ever in Guitar Hero” or “I think that Bon Jovi is One of the Worst Bands Ever in Guitar Hero”. But you said it as if it were a fact, which is wrong. It is only your opinion that Bon Jovi is bad, therefore it would be wrong to state that Bon Jovi IS bad, when really you only THINK they’re bad. When you’re a critic, you’re asked to give your opinion, not state random facts that aren’t true. In my opinion, Bon Jovi is one of the greatest bands in Guitar Hero and in the music industry as well. I find that all their music is inspiring and pleasant to listen to. And I can’t stand when people randomly bash Bon Jovi with no solid proof behind it.
Ok, before we all get into yet ANOTHER, “that band sucks”, “they’re great, you know nothing about music” argument, could we all just admit that they are able and fairly talented musicians who choose to write cheezy, predictable songs, and have mastered an “image” for mainstream consumption of their product. Thank you, you can all resume your homework for tomorrow, little ones.
